Our Story

Te Xin Kuang a.k.a. Victor Kuang

A simple act on a crowded bus started it all. In the early 1990s, soon after immigrating to the U.S., Victor gave up his seat for an older gentleman named Xu Wei. The conversation that followed sparked a friendship that eventually led to Victor and his family opening a small wellness clinic in Oakland Chinatown.

Victor later graduated from the Academy of Chinese Culture and Health Sciences in Oakland.

That same spirit continues today. Victor’s practice is rooted in community – volunteering, supporting neighborhood programs, and offering a steady presence in Chinatown for more than three decades. His work is also deeply personal: his grandfather practiced Chinese herbal medicine, then his father, and now Victor carries that family tradition forward.
